Student Works Painting

Ryan and Co-Worker Tariq after a day marketing at the Farmer's MarketI began working for Student Works Painting in February of 2007 with cold-calling door-to-door around Kingston. This was a new experience for me but, even as an introvert, it was one that I was able to get used to very quickly. Once classes ended for the summer, we moved into full-time work. On some days that meant more cold-calling and as the jobs began to come in, on-site painting jobs became more frequent. We painted both interior and exterior of houses from start to finish: scraping, sanding, caulking, priming, and 3 coats of paint. Ever since then, I have genuinely enjoyed painting work, choosing to freely paint the decks at two past residences.

My manager, Claire (Guindon) Andrusiak, had this to say of my work via LinkedIn:

“Ryan was wonderful to work with and I would hire him again if I opened my own business. He was always punctual, worked very hard, and quick to learn if concepts were new to him. I would highly recommend Ryan for any job, and I know he is quite talented in his field.”June 24, 2011
