Mr. Ryan Robinson
Theology Program
Queen’s School of Religion
Kingston, ON, K7L 3N6
Dear Ryan:
I am pleased to provide you with additional detail concerning a prize awarded to you for your work during the past academic year. You were awarded the Patterson Prize.
The Patterson Prize is awarded once every three years to the student, either in Arts or in Theology, who delivers the best sermon on Evangelism. The Committee on Theological Studies, in contemplating this award and its terms, awarded it to you for the message you delivered as part of a worship service led by the students in THEO 651 during the Fall Term, 2010. In that worship service, we judged that you preached effectively during your reflection upon excerpts from a movie, and in your reflection on that movie you addressed aspects of how we communicate, and witness to, the Christian story in the context of our time.
On behalf of the faculty and staff of the Queen’s School of Religion, I want to congratulate you and to offer you our best wishes for your further study.
Yours sincerely,
John H. Young,
Chair of Theology
